Welcome to the Huntington Police Department

W.H. "Skip" Holbrook, Chief of Police Thank you for visiting the Huntington Police Department website. I hope that this site will provide useful information regarding our department and it serves as a tool to learn about what resources are available for the citizens of our community.

The Huntington Police Department is a dynamic, full-service police organization comprised of 107 sworn officers and eight civilian support personnel. We pride ourselves on being multi-agency focused and recognize the importance of working with other law enforcement agencies. As a result of these partnerships we have seen significant disruptions of area drug trafficking organizations, three straight years of overall crime reductions, as well as significant seizures of illicit drugs destined for our streets.

The newest UCR data shows that in 2010 the City of Huntington saw the lowest number of Part I violent and property crimes since 1985. These reductions are a direct result of the re-investment in public safety by our city officials. This success is also the product of a data driven, result-oriented approach to crime fighting. Most importantly, our successes are predicated on the strength of relationships between police and the citizens we serve.

Huntington is a very proud city. The pride that exists within the community exists within this department. "Honor, Pride, Duty" is once again synonymous with HPD. It is extremely important that citizens feel safe and that there is confidence in the department's ability to ensure that communities within our city are protected. Our consistent, open communication, operational transparency and accountability have provided a level of trust and spirit of teamwork that has not existed in many years.

It is truly an exciting time to work at the Huntington Police Department, the only thing more exciting is the anticipation of what we will accomplish in the future.

It is my honor to be your Chief of Police.

- W.H. "Skip" Holbrook, Chief of Police
